RELEASE: Gil Cisneros Endorsed by The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund

Fullerton, Calif. – Today, Gil Cisneros, Fmr. Lieutenant Commander who is running for Congress in California’s 39th Congressional District, was endorsed by The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund, one of the nation’s largest environmental organizations with more than two million members across the country.

“California’s 39th district deserves a representative that is going to fight for laws that protect our environment, and we are proud to endorse that representative in Gil Cisneros,” said James Johnson, Political Director of California League of Conservation Voters. “Gil understands that climate change is real and people are making it worse. We trust him to stand up to big oil companies that are polluting our environment and work to keep California’s air and water clean.”

“I am honored to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund, and I pledge to continue to push for a green economy and future,” said Cisneros. “We have made great progress in fighting climate change, but that progress is under attack by the President and his administration. In Congress, I will protect California’s coastline from offshore drilling and will hold the Trump administration accountable when it tries to undermine environmental and public land protections. We must work to preserve and protect a clean future for our children and grandchildren.”

The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund’s endorsement adds to the growing list of elected officials and organizations who support Cisneros’s campaign, including the San Bernardino County Professional Firefighters, Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, California Treasurer John Chiang, Congressman Ted Lieu and seventeen other Democratic members of Congress, SEIU California, the Giffords Campaign to End Gun Violence, The Brady Campaign, California School Employees Association (CSEA), the California Democratic Party, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), UniteHere!
