RELEASE: Gil Cisneros Endorsed by PL+US Action

Fullerton, Calif. – Today, Gil Cisneros, Fmr. Lieutenant Commander who is running for Congress in California’s 39th Congressional District, was endorsed by PL+US Action, an advocacy organization fighting for high-paid family leave. PL+US Action has launched the Paid Family Leave Champions program, to endorse candidates who are committed to winning comprehensive paid family leave legislation.

“I’m proud to be endorsed by PL+US Action” said Cisneros. “The Trump administration continues to prioritize big corporations and special interests over hard-working families. While my opponent Young Kim supports massive tax breaks for her dark money allies, I’ll fight for real investments that support the families in our district, including paid family leave. Americans should not be forced to choose between their job and taking care of their family. As the father of two young boys, I know how important it is for parents to be present in our children’s lives. When we support working moms and dads and invest in workers, we support quality of life.”

The endorsement of PL+US Action adds to the growing list of organizations and elected officials who support Cisneros’s campaign, including Alliance for Retired Americans, End Citizens United, the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, United Steel Workers, the Orange County Labor Fed, the LA County Labor Fed, the San Bernardino County Professional Firefighters, Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), immigrants rights champion Dolores Huerta, California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, State Senator Keven de León, Congressman Ted Lieu and eighteen other Democratic members of Congress, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, California Treasurer John Chiang, SEIU California, the Giffords Campaign to End Gun Violence, The Brady Campaign, California School Employees Association (CSEA), the California Democratic Party, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), UniteHere!
