Fullerton, Calif. – Today, Gil Cisneros, Fmr. Lieutenant Commander who is running for Congress in California’s 39th Congressional District, condemned Mike Huckabee’s divisive and hateful rhetoric ahead of Huckabee’s upcoming visit to Buena Park. Cisneros also called on Republican opponent Young Kim to join him in denouncing Huckabee’s bigoted language. Huckabee will be traveling to Buena Park to speak at the mayor’s prayer breakfast in November.
“Mike Huckabee has used ugly and divisive rhetoric against Latinos, Asian-Americans, African-Americans, the LGBTQ community, and women. His views don’t represent the values that I swore to uphold during my service in the United States Navy,” said Cisneros. “No one should be made to feel marginalized because of the color of their skin, the religion they believe in, their socioeconomic status, or who they love. I strongly condemn Mike Huckabee’s hateful rhetoric, and I’m calling on Young Kim to join me in denouncing his bigotry and discrimination. Our communities and our district stand for decency, dignity, and respect for all.”
